How to Get Started with Freed
Step 1: Create a Freed Account
Sign up for a free 7-day trial at https://secure.getfreed.ai/signup.
Enter your email address and create a password to set up an account. No credit card needed. Click Create Account to get started.
Step 2: Capture your first visit
Proceed through the onboarding to familiarize yourself with Freed.
Freed works by capturing the audio of your patient visit, creating a full transcript, and then automatically generating a SOAP note from that transcript. When you’re ready to start, follow these steps:
Open Freed on your web browser or mobile app.
Click Start a Visit and enter your patient's details.
Click Capture Conversation and begin speaking to your patient.
Click End Visit when you’re done with the conversation. Freed will now begin processing the note. Depending on your internet speed and visit length, the processing time may take a few minutes.
Step 3: Review and edit your SOAP note
Once ready, you’ll find the note in the left-hand menu under All Notes.
You can review and edit your freshly-generated note. Some things you can do include:
Change the template to apply a specific Learned or Structured Template.
Edit the note manually by typing directly in the editor.
Use Magic Edit to add details, sections, or make global edits.
View the entire conversation by clicking the Transcript tab at the top of the SOAP note, then expanding the Full Transcript.
Always be sure to fully review the generated note for medical accuracy.
Step 4: Transfer your note to your documentation solution
Freed is designed to work seamlessly with any EHR, EMR, or other documentation solution through a simple copy-paste functionality.
General Tips for Smooth and Reliable Note Transfer
To ensure the best results when copying and pasting notes, follow these best practices:
Maintain a Stable Internet Connection: A strong and stable internet connection helps to reduce lag or delays, especially when transferring larger notes.
Keep Your Browser Up-to-Date: Ensure that Google Chrome is updated to the latest version to benefit from optimal performance and compatibility when using Freed AI.
Close Unnecessary Tabs and Background Applications: Free up your computer's resources by closing unused tabs or applications, which can help your browser function more smoothly.
Handle Hidden Formatting Issues: If pasting large text causes delays or the pasted text appears distorted in your EHR/EMR, try first pasting the note into a simple text editor, such as Notepad (Windows) or TextEdit (Mac), to strip any hidden formatting. Then, copy and paste the cleaned text into your EHR/EMR.
Paste in Smaller Sections When Necessary: Some EHR/EMR systems may have limitations on text field capacities. If you encounter any issues, break your note into smaller sections and paste them incrementally.
You can also use the Freed Google Chrome Extension to export your note into your EHR.
Recommended Workflow for Enhanced Productivity
Using the Freed AI Chrome Extension can significantly improve your workflow efficiency. Here’s how:
Install the Freed Chrome Extension: This allows Freed AI to be displayed alongside your web-based EHR system within the browser, eliminating the need to switch between tabs.
Copy and Paste Notes Efficiently: After processing a visit in Freed AI, directly copy the relevant sections of the finalized note.
Integrate Notes into Your EHR: Paste the copied text into the designated fields within your EHR system. The side-by-side layout facilitates seamless transitions and helps avoid errors.
If you're part of a group plan, you may have access to a direct integration to select EHR solutions.
