How to Get Started
Follow these simple steps to start using the Freed Chrome Extension:
Install the Chrome Extension
Visit the Chrome Web Store and download the Freed Chrome Extension at no cost:Pin the Extension
After installing, pin Freed to your Chrome toolbar for quick access:Click the puzzle piece icon in Chrome (top-right corner).
Find “Freed AI Extension” in the list.
Click the pin icon to add Freed to your toolbar.
Login to Freed, if you have not (optional)
If you are not currently logged in to Freed app, after launching it from toolbar you will be asked to login via social login or password and redirected back. Now you area ready to launch and start using extension.
Start Recording
With the extension pinned, you can start recording directly from your EHR or any webpage:
Start from your EHR page (recommended)
Click the Freed icon in your toolbar.
Select "Start Visit" to begin recording.

Repositioning widget
Hover over the extension navigation bar to reveal the drag handle, then use it to reposition the Freed extension within your EHR window. This ensures optimal placement for seamless interaction while charting.
Discover app navigation
Access key actions quickly using the contextual menu. From here, you can find help or support, switch accounts, or launch the Freed web app to access the full suite of product features.
Toggle between minimized and full modes
The Freed Chrome Extension includes a minimized view option to free up screen space while capturing conversations. Simply click on the Freed Extension icon in your Chrome toolbar to open it, then click the arrow icon in the upper right-hand corner to shrink it into a small, compact box.
Navigating pages in EHR
Freed extension will keep recording session even while navigating pages in your EHR. Timer and recording marker in the Chrome toolbar indicates that recording is in progress.
Streamline Copying
After finishing a recording, you’ll be automatically redirected to the note processing progress view. This allows you to copy the generated note immediately, saving you time and keeping your workflow efficient.

Troubleshooting
Setting microphone permissions
Freed Chrome Extension needs to grant microphone permissions upon first use. When requested, grant those permissions in chrome app settings.
