Use Freed with your EHR

How to transfer notes from Freed to your EHR, EMR, or other documentation solution.

Updated yesterday

Freed is designed to work alongside every EHR and EMR using a copy-paste functionality. Freed transcribes, structures, and formats a completed SOAP note.

You can then copy the whole note, individual sections, or blocks of text, and paste it into your EHR, either directly from Freed's website or using the Chrome extension.

Copy your Note

You can copy all or sections of your note directly from Freed's website or app.

Option 1: Copy all sections

Click the Copy All button to copy all sections (Subjective, Objective, Assessment & Plan) of the note.

Option 2: Copy individual sections

Click the "Copy" button within each section's header to copy just a selected section.

Option 3: Copy a block of text

Hover over a paragraph or block of text, and click the copy icon (two stacked rectangles) that appears. This will copy the highlighted block of text.

Option 4: Copy selected text

Highlight your desired portion of text, then copy the selection using one of these methods:

  • Secondary-click/right-click > Copy

  • Windows keyboard shortcut: CTRL + C

  • Mac keyboard shortcut: Command + C

Paste your Note

Once copied, you can paste the selected text into your EHR, EMR, or other documentation solution. To quickly do so, you can use one of these methods:

  • Secondary-click/right-click > Paste

  • Windows keyboard shortcut: CTRL + V

  • Mac keyboard shortcut: Command + V

Use the Freed Chrome Extension

For a more convenient experience, use the Freed Chrome Extension to surface Freed alongside any web-based EHR or EMR. You can record, format, and copy directly from the extension, and paste into your EHR or EMR without switching tabs or windows.

If you're part of a group plan, you may have access to a direct integration with select EHR solutions. Contact your group's admin to learn more.

Summary

Freed provides flexible options for copying the selection of text you wish to transfer. You can use the built-in copy buttons, the copy-block feature, or keyboard shortcuts to copy and paste exactly what you want, where you want. The Freed Chrome Extension makes this even more convenient to do so.
