Navigating Freed

Guide to the redesigned Freed interface.

We've updated Freed, introducing a redesigned interface that organizes your work around visits and patients, with an always-available AI clinical assistant at your side. This guide walks you through the key changes.

Platform availability: The new Freed interface is live on web, mobile web, and Android. If you use the iOS app or Chrome extension, you will continue to see the previous layout for now.

The New Layout

Freed 2.0 moves from a feature-module layout to a visit-centric experience.

Auto-Hiding Visit List (Sidebar)

The visit list on the left side now auto-hides to give you more space for your note and the AI Clinician assistant.

  • Reveal it: Hover over the left edge of the screen.

  • Pin it open: Click the Pin schedule icon to keep the sidebar visible while you work.

  • Access settings, templates, and your profile: These are still in the sidebar. Reveal it first, then click the relevant icon.

AI Clinician assistant

Freed's clinician assistant now appears as a panel on the right side of your screen (denoted by the three stars).

  • Toggle visibility: Click the show/hide button to collapse or expand the assistant panel.

  • Use it anytime: Ask questions, edit your note, get clinical decision support, or summarize prior visits.

  • Sourced answers: Clinical questions now return answers with linked citations from 50+ verified medical sources.

Visit Tabs

Each visit now has tabs at the top for quick access to different documentation:

  • Visit note (all tiers)

  • Billing codes - ICD-10, CPT, and E/M codes (Premier and Group)

  • Patient instructions (Premier and Group)

  • Clinical letter - Clinical letters like referrals and sick notes (Premier and Group)

Recording Controls

Recording controls (start, pause, end) have moved to a new location within the visit view. When you open or create a visit, the recording controls are prominently displayed.

Key New Features in 2.0

Auto Learn

Auto Learn is off by default. When enabled, Freed automatically learns from your edits and updates your template in the background β€” no extra steps needed.

  • Turn off Auto Learn: If you'd prefer to control when your template learns, click Templates in the left menu, open the template, and toggle off the Auto Learn button just under the title.

  • Version history: View how your template has evolved and revert to any previous version.

  • Constraints: Works with Learned Templates only (not Structured or shared templates).

Coding assistant

Formerly "Coding Pro," the Coding assistant is now included at no additional cost for Premier and Group subscribers. It surfaces ICD-10, CPT, and E/M code suggestions with post-visit optimization.

When first accessing the Coding assistant, you'll need to opt-in to CPT code generation by entering your name and practice address when prompted.

Enhanced Clinical Decision Support

Clinical answers are now sourced from 50+ verified medical sources with linked, inspectable citations. PHI is never passed outside of Freed for CDS queries.
