How can I manage Freed group plans and resolve billing issues effectively?

Managing Freed Group Plans and Resolving Billing Issues

Freed group plans offer flexibility for managing multiple provider accounts, but understanding how to configure and manage these plans effectively is essential to avoid billing issues. This article provides guidance on managing group plans, resolving billing discrepancies, and configuring subscriptions to meet your needs.

Overview of Freed Group Plans

Freed group plans are billed per provider license. Each license corresponds to a seat on the plan, and you are charged for all seats included in your subscription, regardless of whether they are actively used. For example, if your group plan includes two licenses, you will be charged for both seats even if only one is in use.

Managing Group Plans

Adding or Removing Seats

If you need to adjust the number of seats on your group plan:

  1. Log in to your Freed account using your existing email.

  2. Navigate to the group plan subscription page.

  3. Select the desired number of provider seats (e.g., 1 or 2).

  4. Complete the checkout process to finalize the changes.

Once your group plan is active, you can invite additional providers as needed by following the guide: Inviting Users to a Freed Group Plan. All existing notes and account information will remain intact after upgrading. If you remove an extra seat, you will only be charged for your own subscription at $99/month. This adjustment ensures that you are not billed for unused seats.

Configuring a Group Plan for One Seat

A Freed group plan can be configured to include only one seat, functioning as a group of one. This setup avoids extra charges tied to additional seats. You can add or remove seats later if your needs change.

Resolving Billing Issues

Duplicate or Unexpected Charges

If you notice duplicate charges or are billed for more seats than intended, verify your subscription settings:

  • Check the number of seats configured in your group plan.

  • Ensure your subscription reflects the correct number of providers.

If you were incorrectly charged for extra seats, you can request a refund by confirming the affected months. Prorated refunds will be issued accordingly.

Charges on a Personal Credit Card

If you are on a group account through your employer but were charged on your personal credit card, it may be because your account is linked to an individual plan. Each Freed account requires a unique email address, so ensure your group account is accurately linked to your employer's plan.

Two Charges on the Same Day

Two charges on the same day can occur when one is for the current annual membership year and the other is for the upcoming membership year. To confirm the billing periods associated with each charge, review your Billing page (Profile icon > Billing).

FAQs for Common Scenarios

  • Why am I being billed for two providers when only I am using the program? Freed group plans bill for all seats included in the subscription, regardless of usage. Adjust your plan to reflect the correct number of seats if needed.

  • What happens if I remove a provider from my group plan? You will only be charged for your own subscription, and a refund can be issued for any overpayment.

  • How do I set up the correct number of providers in my group account? Follow the steps outlined in the "Adding or Removing Seats" section above.

By following these guidelines, you can effectively manage your Freed group plan and resolve any billing issues that arise.
