Freed + athenahealth integration

Automatically transfer notes from Freed to your athenahealth EHR

Updated today

We're currently testing a Beta version of the Freed Chrome Extension, designed to make transferring notes into athena even faster and more seamless. We'd love for you to be among the first to try it out and share your feedback!

How does it work?

Once EHR Push is enabled, open your patient’s note in athena with the Freed Chrome Extension active and their most recent note selected. Click Push to EHR, and Freed will automatically transfer your note.

Note: EHR Push is currently in Beta and may occasionally be slow or need improvements. We’d love your feedback—please use the thumbs-down widget or our regular support channels to share your thoughts. If EHR Push is not working, remove and reinstall the Chrome Extension to ensure you’re on the latest version. If you don’t have access to EHR Push, contact our customer support team to be added to the Beta.

How to Use (3 Simple Steps)

1. Install the Freed Chrome Extension

To use EHR Push you will need to first install the Freed Chrome Extension.

2. Open the note you want to transfer

  • In athena: open the patient encounter where you'd like to transfer your note, then go to the HPI tab.

  • In the Freed Chrome Extension: open the note you want to transfer.

⚠️ Important: For reliable note transfers, start the push from the HPI tab or EHR Review tab in athena.

3. Click "Push to EHR"

Click "Push to EHR" to start the transfer process, and your note will be automatically copied over in a matter of seconds!

Note: If you have feedback or experience any issues, please share your feedback with our support team.
