You can view, edit, and manage all templates added to your account in the Template Library. Click the Templates icon in the left sidebar to view your Template Library.
You'll be brought to the Template Library, where you can see the templates added to your account, browse pre-made templates from Freed, and share templates with your team if part of a group plan.
My Library
The default page in the Template Library, you can see all templates that you've added to your account on this page.
View and Sort Templates
You can sort and filter your templates alphabetically by name and owner and chronologically by last updated. Click on the header in the table to sort one direction, and click again to sort in the opposite direction.
Manage your Templates
Click the star icon to add a template to your favorites. This will bring the starred template to the top of your list when using the template selector in the recording or editing screen.
Click the ellipses (three dots) to open template actions to edit, duplicate, delete, or star/unstar the template.
Please note that Freed default templates that have been added to your account automatically cannot currently be deleted.
Edit your Templates
In the Template Library, click on a template to open its editor. If you're editing a Freed default template, you'll need to duplicate the template first before editing.
Edit a Learned Template
Clicking on a Learned Template will open its Example Note. This is the hypothetical note that Freed uses to format newly generated notes. You can edit the example note directly in the same way you can edit a note. You can:
Insert, remove, and re-order subsections within the SOAP note
Change punctuation, formatting, and units of measurement
Use numbered or bulleted lists
To add a consent statement to a Learned Template:
Insert your consent statement, in your desired location in the note, surrounded by quotation marks (" "), directly into the Example Note.
Save your changes.

Edit a Structured Template
Clicking on a Structured Template will open the Template Builder. Here, you can add, remove, and re-order subsections within the outline of the SOAP note. You can:
Define subsection preferences such as format, length, and heading visibility
Add a fixed text subsection for text you'd like to always include
Add a custom subsection to write your own prompt to capture specific details
Please note that you cannot edit a Freed default Structured Template. Duplicate the template first to edit it in the template builder.
To add a consent statement to a Learned Template:
Click the New Subsection button and select the option to add Fixed Text.
Enter your consent statement in the Fixed Text subsection, and drag to position the subsection where desired.
Save your changes.

Team Library
You can view all templates shared by team members and administrators in the Team Library tab (only available for group accounts).
Click a template to preview it. To add the template to your library, click the plus icon or the Add to my Library button.
You cannot edit a template owned by a teammate, unless you add the template to your library, then duplicate it.
Share a Template with your Team
By default, templates are private and only visible to you. However, if you use Freed as part of a group, you can share templates with and access templates shared by your team. To share a template with your team:
Click the template to edit it.
At the bottom of the editor, change the visibility from “Only Me” to “Team.”
Once shared, the template will appear in the Team Library, making it accessible for your colleagues to use or duplicate.
Please note you can only adjust visibility for templates that you both created and own.
Freed Library
You can view all pre-made templates from Freed in the Freed Library tab. Some templates have specialties assigned to them - this indicates that they will be added by default if you select a specific medical specialty for your account.
You can sort through the Freed Library using the headers at the top of the table.
Click a template to preview it. Specialty templates are tuned to capture and generate more relevant and tailored details in your note.
To add the template to your library, hover over the template and click the plus icon or the Add to my Library button.
You cannot edit a template created by Freed. Instead, first add the template to your library, then duplicate it to edit it.
