Introducing: Instant Templates

How to use a note you've already written to generate an Instant Template in Freed.

Updated yesterday

Creating a template in Freed just got a whole lot easier. With Instant Templates, you can now upload or paste in a sample note — like one from your EHR or a past visit — and Freed will instantly generate a Learned Template for you. No more building from scratch. Just upload and go.

About Instant Templates

Freed can now learn how to structure and format your notes based on a note that you have already completed. With Instant Templates, you can upload or paste a note to Freed, and Freed will automatically convert it into a Learned Template, which you can use to format your notes generated from a visit captured in Freed.

You can upload as many notes as you'd like, to create as many Instant Templates as you need to fit your workflow.

Once a template is created based on your uploaded note, you can still use Learn Format to further refine and teach Freed how to structure your notes.

How to Use Instant Templates

1. Click the Templates icon in the left sidebar.

2. Click the “New Template” button in the top-right corner.

3. Select “Upload Template”

4. Choose to either:

  • Upload a file (PDF or DOCX with an example note)

  • Paste text directly from your EHR

5. Freed will process the content and create a Learned Template based on the structure, wording, and layout of the sample

You’ll see it appear in your Template Library and in your template selector. You can then apply this template to any note.

To edit the template, click on it in your Template Library and edit the example note directly.
