How Freed Uses Your Specialty to Customize Your Notes
Updated this week

Freed has introduced specialty-specific notes to enhance your clinical documentation by tailoring your notes based on the specialty you selected when creating your account. This update is part of our ongoing efforts to improve the accuracy and customization of your notes using our AI models.

Visible Changes

You won’t see any major visible changes on the Freed platform. This is a backend update that improves how our AI writes your notes based on your specialty. This enhancement applies to all of your notes, regardless of which template was used.

Adjusting to AI Model Changes

If you’ve previously used the Learn Format feature to customize your notes, the AI model changes might require you to delete your previous examples and start fresh.

Recommended Steps to Relearn Your Format:

  1. Click the down arrow next to Learn Format and switch to unformatted view.

  2. Delete any sections you don’t need (Medical History, Medications and Supplements, Review of Systems, etc.) and update the formatting (use paragraph vs. numbered/bullet lists and edit heading names).

  3. Click Learn Format to learn these changes.

  4. Repeat this process for 2–3 notes to help the AI learn your preferences.

Important: You may also need to delete your previously Learned Examples to ensure the AI model applies your formatting correctly.

Tip: Avoid adding any new content that wasn’t in the unformatted version before clicking Learn Format—this can confuse the AI and lead to formatting inconsistencies.

How to Change Your Specialty in Freed:

If you need to change your specialty, follow these steps:

  1. Click your Profile icon in the upper-right corner.

  2. Select "You" from the dropdown menu.

  3. Update the "Specialty" field to reflect your current area of practice.

This change will automatically update how the AI tailors your notes moving forward.
